You are warmly invited to our first collection of handbuilt sculptural lamps, a collection inspired by the mythic power of the human cultural and physical landscape.

The Totem Lamp series celebrates a new sculptural design direction, and marks Martin's long held interest in handbuilt plaster forms. The pieces combine elemental shapes and textural marks to create unique, functional pieces which hint at human forms and common myths. A potent mixture of the innately ancient expressed in a modern style.
Working in plaster, Martin uses the properties of the material to sculpt and to carve sweeping shapes with an evocative sense of heaviness and mass, gradually building the form over time. The complexity and richness of texture in the plaster makes a pleasing contrast with the smoothness of the solid bronze rod section, and the softness of the fabric shade.
Come along to 27 All Saints Road on Thursday, where we would love to talk you through our new lighting designs, and where bespoke upholsterers Lawson Wood will be hosting a day long demonstration of their crafting artistry.
