A daring architectural meeting of glittering English Dartington Crystal and modernist geometric brass forms, the Babylon Series is an imposing collection of seven large scale decorative hanging lights, which Martin Huxford Studio launch at designjunction 2014, First floor, Stand F58.
Martin Huxford Studio were delighted to work with the skilled glass team at Dartington Crystal in Devon, who took on the task of producing mouth blown, dazzling cut crystal shade sections in three different colours.
Each suspended light is constructed from up to twelve individually cast brass sections, each hand polished to a mirror finish. The exquisite jewel like shade section in mouth blown English lead crystal, is a rich textural contrast to the brass, and is designed to reflect and interact with the shapes above it. The brilliant cut crystal shades come in three colours, azure, amethyst and onyx.
Designed to hang individually or as a dramatic group, the Babylon Series is the latest large scale decorative hanging light collection designed by Martin Huxford Studio, with their trademark celebration of craftsmanship and instinct for strong contemporary forms.
