Rich Texture and Sculptural Forms
Rich texture and the drama of Martin Huxford's hand sculpted forms are the unique creative heart of our new lighting collection. The new work celebrates the tactile pleasure of the handmade and the unique mark of the artist. Martin's sculptural lights are initially worked by him in plaster, then cast in bronze or cold cast marble. The pieces are then individually hand patinated.
Facet Alabaster Ring Chandelier
A major centrepiece chandelier, four decorative sculpted pieces of facetted bronze are positioned around a large ring of illuminated alabaster. There is a wonderful contrast between the smooth honed surface of the natural alabaster, and the textured angles of the sculpted facets.
Glide Chandelier
The Glide chandelier is inspired by the drifting shapes of gliders in the open skies near our studio in the South Downs. A celebration of ease and relaxation, each elegant arm made from sustainable walnut is defined by a subtle line of solid brass, hand finished with an antique or bronze patina.
Mythic Lamp Series
Tall, elemental and a potent mix of the modern and the mythic, the Totem and Cerne lamps are unique hand sculpted designs. Working initially in plaster, Martin uses this traditional material to build and refine the final form.
