Origin is one of a unique series of lamp sculptures by Martin Huxford, now available in bronze. The sculpture is an exciting juxtaposition of smooth architectural forms and rough organic textures.
A commanding statement piece, the bronze Origin lamp adds light and warmth, with the unique texture and presence of the handmade. Each aspect of the lamp presents us with a different view, as geometry battles softer organic forces. Angular cuboid shapes frame circular centres, the rough texture contrasting with the smooth.
The tactile organic edge of the sculpture is a graphic assertion of the power of the natural, as a projecting curve of rough texture breaks away from the repeated geometry of the main body of the lamp.
Each lamp is made to order at our studio in Sussex, and can be ordered in white plaster, bronze and dark bronze.
